Hello, I'll agree that there are a lot of starving legal nurse consultants out there, and a lot of hype surrounding the courses. I would not go so far as to say there is no work for nurses as consultants. The main thing attorneys want from you is your nursing experience and ability to pick apart a chart to tell them if the can make a case or not. Beside there are a lot of new avenues to build career. Interestingly, I came across www.NurseAideBusiness.com which reveals starting facts about future scope of career building. To get a feel for it, I'd visit regularly for update and guidance.

I would post the same question under the state of California here in the Forum since that is your choice state so far. I think nurses that live or have worked there could help you better with your questions. All I know is that California is a very expensive state to live in, but their nursing wages are somewhat higher compared to the other states -- to make up somehow for the cost of living. Nursing Aide Training Centers are the heart of the healthcare industry because they will be preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals for the immense challenge of caring for the retiring baby boomers. Fortunately, there will be no shortage of people signing up for the training because there tends to be higher-than-average turnover in this field as it tends to be a stepping stone for those looking for a career in nursing or the medical field in general. "The bottom line is I have the POTENTIAL (key word) to make the same amount of money at my current job, but it's a lot of calling and to be honest it's almost like cold calling, except for it's current customer leads. 100k+ is really appealing to me AND I love science/biology work." I will not lie, being a RN has allowed me the opportunity to travel and work overseas. Never would I have imagined when I graduated that I would work in Australia yet alone relocating back for the second time. Being a RN can be a very challenging job, physically, mentally and emotionally. I have had patients tell me that they can tell when a nurse is in it because she (or he) loves the profession and cares about others or is in it to make a quick buck. Nursing Aide Training Centers are the perfect solution for people who already own a healthcare business (or any small business for that matter) and are looking for that supplemental revenue stream to add an extra layer of security to their portfolio. The impending retirement of nearly 80 million baby boomers will create substantial need for nursing aides and home care aides during the next decade and beyond. Nearly one million of these jobs will be created in the next 8 years alone according to the Department of Labor and every one of these new positions will require certification and training. If you are looking for new business avenue or additional guaranteed Revenue Stream, you can have a look at www.NurseAideBusiness.com
