Nuisance is a "Heavy Rock" band from Chicago, IL. The current line-up has been together for about a year and a half. Some comparisons given to us have been Deftones, Tool and Sevendust.
Band/artist history
Nuisance is an original "Heavy Rock" band from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, with a mission to turn everybody's head in their direction! Sometimes powerful, sometimes dramatic but always intense - that is Nuisance in simple form.
The current five members have been together since March of 2001, however, the musical portion of the group has been together since September of 1999. Brandon Crow (vocals - and yes that is his real name) is the driving force of a musically advanced band that is to be reckoned with by audiences and the music industry alike. Brandon's singing ability has allowed Nuisance to be more than just another heavy band with a screamer; this being said, Mr. Crow has no problem letting it out when he feels it is necessary.
Nuisance evolved mostly from the Chicago band Scratch Happy who made a nice run of Illinois, Wisconsin and even Philadelphia (Philadelphia Music Conference Performers in 1998). Three of the Scratch Happy members - Jason Johansen, David Levine and Ed 'Word' Zabinski - split from the group in pursuit of a new musical style. Almost immediately teaming up with Steve 'Pilk' Pilkington, and eventually Brandon Crow, finalized the new lineup.
Live shows are what really separate Nuisance from most Chicago bands. The energy projected not only through the music, but also from the performers, is so electrifying that it has generated many positive comments and new Nuisance fans. The group does not push their mailing list on the crowd like some bands do, and it's full every time they leave an establishment! Professionalism and their ability to get the crowd involved by being involved themselves has made them a pleasure for club owners to work with them as everyone of them has asked them back including the owner of the Rockhouse in Rolling Meadows who wouldn't let them leave until they booked another night...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We play live between 3-5 a month in the midwest mostly around Chicago though. We love playing live, and it's something that we like preparing for to keep our shows fresh.
