Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
NTM records wasn't always record label. The record label started as small rap group consisting of 6 college students that attend Augusta State University. These students went by there aliases Young, D-Money, K-Dub, Winnafresh, Soulja T, and J-$torm. There were known in there distinct hometowns as "Six Deep". The group gained popularity quickly by having 3 producers and 5 emcees with distictive rap styles. While attending college, the group face daily challenges trying to get there music copyrighted, find studios in the area, and obtain a business license. After their second recording, Six Deep started to sell the tracks as singles around college campuses, apartment complexes and busy streets. They managed to sell 100 copies in a mere week and then decided to pursue their rap career and start a record label that focus on the "underdogs"....NTM records came into affect. Shortly after NTM records once again became just NTM...Niggaz Tryna Make-it...No longer a record label, it exist as a group following who help others who are trying to get heard.
Your musical influences
Our musical influences came from all genres of rap. Mainly Jay-Z, Nas, 2Pac, KRS-one, Ludacris, Biggie, Scarface, T.I., 3 Six Mafia, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, The Game, The Neptunes, Lil'Jon, Kanye West and Mos Def...Music industry giants such as Russell Simmons, Kevin Liles and Dr. Dre are some of our biggest influences also.
What equipment do you use?
We use our NTM Machines!!! Your NTM machine is whatever you used to make money. It can be your mic or computer, anything! Whatever you choose to use to bring in the bread is your NTM Machine..use it wisely.
