PR Bio for Nth / Nth808 / nthetic sound system / G. / G. Sachio Crowe contact: Exponential Media / PO Box 1772 / Seattle, WA 98111, USA / 206.283.2179 office / 206.669.1952 cell / email Nth Info Bio/News/mp3 Newsgroup Got Nth? This is an introduction to G. Sachio Crowe his projects/aliases Nth/Nth808/Nthetic Sound System and label/network Exponential Media. He is a composer/musician, producer/dj and label/network manager for Exponential Media. Starting his career in music at the age of ten through classical training on the string bass and soon thereafter self-taught onto piano. Continued in local youth symphonies into late teens and until interest in music composition, music theory and hardware rewiring led into more piano and synthesizer-based work. Received and circuit bent his first Yamaha FM synthesizer at thirteen. By the early 1990's, his first computer, a borrowed Amiga with sequencing, sampling and midi I/O abilities and a couple years later, at sixteen, purchased his first drum machine, an Alesis SR-16 and acquired his first analog synthesizer, a Roland SH-101. He was also getting into industrial, electronic and experimental forms of composition influencing musical and sonic tools and output. In the mid-1990's, he was introduced to while also developing variations of electronic and dance styles such as dub, drum and bass, idm, techno and trance. In 2000, he was introduced to turntables, beat matching and the art of mixing and scratching. He has spent most of his young adult life in colleges in universities pursuing multiple B.S.’s in physics and biochemistry with minors in chemistry and mathematics and a PhD in theoretical physics as his main scholastic goal. His academic and research background include music composition, music theory, acoustics, psycho-acoustics, most areas in biochemistry, chemistry, mathematics and physics specializing in theoretical physics and biophysical chemistry. “ I let my intuition and understanding in music and mathematics to develop and influence my skills and personalized style.” In the meantime, he has worked in multiple record stores and established relations with many independent electronic labels and has developed an extensive library of music with several hundred records and a few thousand cd’s. Styles on cd include various forms of drum and bass, idm, industrial/ebm, ambient/experimental, reggae/dub, hip-hop, early 1950's to late 1960's era jazz/be-bop/avant-garde. Styles on vinyl include various forms of drum and bass, idm, glitch/breakcore, 2step/breaks and techno. “As a composer, I try to learn and understand all forms of melodic, harmonic and rhythmic structure occurring naturally, created or accidental, throughout various cultures and eras in music. As a musician, I try to challenge my physical and mental skills through equal affinities for the synthesizer and the piano and their histories, designs and applications. As a producer, I have been creating variations of electronic music most of my life. As a DJ, I mix several styles currently in variations on traditional and experimental forms of drum and bass, idm and breaks. As a label, Exponential Media, I am beginning to publish music on a professional level and to help support local and visiting electronic musicians, producers, performers, DJs and labels. I have developed my production studio for the compositions, recordings, personal sound design and live performances of Nth, my approach toward the creation of fully controlled and manipulated electronic music in real-time with a combination of minimal sequencing, musical improvisation, mixing, programming and using hardware and software for synthesis and sampling.” His research and work require equal balances of daily composition, improvisation, practice and study. He also emphasizes on performing live with an evolving real-time setup with synthesizers, sampler and laptop. He is beginning to publish some of the hours of music and sound research he has been developing and generating over the years. He is currently working on multiple residencies here in Seattle and playing out regularly through promotion, networking and through supportive collectives’ residencies at many Seattle venues as well as some in Portland and Vancouver BC as well. He has performed, mixed, and produced music professionally and for various paid and nonprofit events including variations of club, party, radio, studio, symphony and theater events in several cities in the northwest with recent focus on the Seattle, Vancouver BC and Portland metropolitan areas. He has and actively participates with several Seattle-based organizations including the SIL2K ensemble, Gracewerks, Backwards Records, Decibel, Sonicabal and Fourthcity collectives and is assistant manager, music buyer, operations organizer & PR manager of Underdawg Records Seattle.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes in Seattle.

music for the convolution...Boss!Some very interesting sounds here. I'll be checking back for more.I looked you up under, sounds like... Skinny Puppy, for this is one of my main influences (but not my first in my deliberately orginized list). I am new to this site, but, like you, not new to composition. My first musical hero was Al Yankovic, for putting trite pop songs in thier place. I really dig your styles, you seem to be very diliberate, I've put down that sack of bricks. Check me out, you might dig some of my electronic attempts, or mabey try a beat or two!!!cool stuff, you should check out ASTONISHING SOD APE..kinda like, err...aphex twin, squarepusher chopped up beats, every song has a different mood/sound..All comments (5)
