Not Enough Flannel
At 6:30 every morning the rhythm section of Lathrop High School Jazz Ensemble would chat about music while the teacher found his cup off coffee and took attendance. Eventually we decided to start a Jazz Combo. We played at University Alaska Fairbanks Jazz Fest for an adjudication and ever since we have been practicing and booking gigs.
We play a mix of jazz, rock, punk, folk, and blues.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We mostly play live, school events and open mic nights are where we started but we have played a few music festivals and hope to book more gigs.
Your musical influences
Nancy Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Ray Charles, Queen, David Bowie, Santana, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Lots of rock bands and jazz bands. We like to cover old folk songs and 60's songs.
What equipment do you use?
Bass - MIJ Fender Jazz Bass, Crate B15 or house amps.
Guitar - Schecter C1 Blackjack, Crate V1215, lots of pedals.
Drums - Snare and crash if we can't get a whole set in.
Piano - Whatever is in house.
