Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to NorthRock! OutBreak and U-N-I are considered to be the best Independent Latin/Urban Artists gracing stages currently across America. Three National Competitions later, they continue to move crowds and increase their following. Opening for and headlining with some of the globes greatest acts, they strive to put Chicago Latinos on the map. Not only are they grounded in their heritage, but are some of the most versital performers emerging from the Midwest. Raised in some of Chicago's most historic Latino communities, OutBreak (Logan Square) and U-N-I (Humboldt Park) plan to finally put Chicago Latinos on the map. They have not only been featured on "One Nation under Hip Hop" on Mun 2 but have won Cuervoton in 2006 and 2007 and currently hold the title of Burger King's Tu Musica, Tu Ciudad Latin/Urban Winners of 2008. Band/artist history
Collectively we've been making music for years, since we were kids... Cohesively as a duo, we've been attacking the industry since the end of 2007. We have won multiple awards and accolades between us: 2006 Cuervoton Midwest Champion-(Best Unsigned Urban Entertainer 2006) 2007 Cuervoton Midwest Champion-(Best Unsigned Urban Entertainer 2007) Burger King-"Tu Ciudad, Tu Musica"- (Best Unsigned Urban Artist 2008) Burger King-"Tu Ciudad, Tu Musica"- (Best Unsigned Urban Artist 2009)
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes we have played every historic venue in Chicago from the Soldier Field to the House of Blues and have performed outside of Chicago at such choice venues as the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, Calle Orange in Orlando and various colleges across the midwest.
Your musical influences
KRS-1, LL Cool J, B.O.N.E. Thugs and Harmony, Big Pun, Eddie Santiago, Public Enemy, Fast Eddie and DJ Sneak and so many others... the list goes on and on
What equipment do you use?
As far as performing we use SM 58 Beta Cordless Mics. and Techics CD Turntables and a Rane mixer. Very simple for shows. In studio we use Pro Tools, a Mackie Onyx 1680 and a Vintage...... Not tellin our secret to our sound!
