Noodlin' Studio
As the name Noodlin' Studio implies, this isn't really a band but a compilation of bands. More precisely a compilation of groups of people that I play with and record in my home studio. Each variation of people gets a new 'project' name. But in all of them I am a strong writing influence and play at least one instrument on.
I have also recorded/produced projects for traditional bands. I won't put that music here as it doesn't fit into the scope of soundclick. I expect them to make their own soundclick page...
For all Noodlin' Studio music see:
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not any more. I prefer the creative process of writing songs and recording them. With the studio I can record them and distribute them to more people to enjoy more than once. I was never a 'spotlight showman' type of person, anyhow.
Your musical influences
This varies so much that I'll have to put what to expect next to each song posted. Plus I don't think what I write sounds much like anything I listen to. I listen to most musical styles and write in many. Music is about emotions, and it's boring to feel the same emotion all the time just like it's boring to listen to the same music all the time.
For now, songs posted at first will be rock based -- that powerful energy that rock is! Each song will have a strong secondary flavor such as jazz-rock, funk-rock, hard-rock, or twang-rock. I just call it progressive rock.
There are some straight ahead jazz pieces in the works and a few jazz-fusion pieces that I just need to finish. I also love classical music, but don't know how evident that is in any of the music I write. A few non-original solo classical guitar pieces might show up at some point.
What equipment do you use?
Anything that gives me the end results I am after. I have a base set of instruments and a number of amplifiers and microphones, but I borrow or rent what ever I need to fill the bill...
