The idea for NO LABEL was to go back to our roots - punk and new wave from the late seventies, mixed with a selection of newer songs from the last 20 years - essentially a cover band. We started out with a few jamm sessions, which brought both Pete & Jason playing music together for the first time in over 10 years. Things developed quickly and NO LABEL was up and running.Band/artist history
Pete & Jason met at school in 1980 and were both members of punk bands, learning how to play their respective instruments. Both of them continued to play in different bands until 1984 the met in CYAN. With Pete on Bass and Vocals and Jason on Guitar they soon formed a very strong musical bond that has remained and indeed got stonger with time.
With work and education commitments CYAN was no longer. Pete & Jason continued to play together with the set up that they still have to this day. Two guys and a drum machine.
Again, work commitments meant that Pete joined other bands in the late 80's, one of which was SPOILED FOR CHOICE, which Jason joined at a later date, so once again they were playing live together. The 90's arrived and Pete moved away to work but kept in touch with Jason. Both guys continued to play in various bands.
They got together in 2002 (10 years after they had both played in a band together), originally this was just to allow them to play a few songs together. One night they stared to play a punky version of Can't Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie and NO LABEL was born.
Just as things were going well Pete got a job in Saudi Arabia. Not to be put off by the distance NO LABEL decided to continue to practise over the internet and by phone. This has resulted in a strong 20+ song set, complete with a number of their own songs.Have you performed in front of an audience?Our live performances of NO LABEL are limited due the location of the members of the band. Pete lives and works in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia and Jason in Inverness, Scotland. But during the summer each year, when Pete is on leave, the band get together for live performances (click on "On Tour" for details)
Playing is what the band do best and every gig gets the full NO LABEL treatment in terms of presentation, professionsalism and energy. NO LABEL believe that a live performance is not only about the music and effort is put into every detail to make it a memorable experience for both the band and the audience.
