NOK has been together since 1996 and in that time they charted top 20 in all the national Loud Rock radio charts with 5 song EP. Their debut full-length album, VENT, has charted in the Top 15 of national Loud Rock charts and is available nationally.
They have played CMJ, NEMO, MacRock, The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival as well as dozens of other shows with nationally known bands such as Napalm Death, Testament, Skinlab, Static X, Nothingface, The Misfits, Meshuggah, Hatebreed, Crisis, DayInTheLife, Tree, Spineshank and Earth Crisis.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Playing live is what we are all about. All we want is to get on a good tour and take our music straight to the fans.
Your musical influences
For musical influences, we all listen to pretty much everything which I think allows us to draw on different sources for songwriting. Generally speaking everyone listens to all kinds of heavy music. We don't limit ourselves to underground hardcore or whatever. So Sabbath on through Slayer to modern metal.
In addition, individually we have different influences. Brian listens to a lot of rap an hip hop, I grew up listening to progressive metal and rock, Mike likes all the modern Deftones style bands, Frank listens to underground stuff. Then we have the total different style influences, Jazz, folk, pop...pretty much anything that grabs us.
