Noah King and The Renegade Soldier Movement
I grew up in a generation that knows little of struggle.
I did not march with Martin Luther King, as my parents did.
I was not drafted to war as my grandfathers were.
But I see my generation, with more opportunity than ANY before it....
not taking advantage of the freedom handed to us.
We are the first generation with the freedom to BE authentic.
We don't have to fake it to make it.
We don't have to conform to get by..
And yet we continue to put up a front.
Politically AND Musically ...
from Ghandi to Tupac....
Martin Luther King to Jackie Robinson....
Bob Marley to Bob Dylan...
people before us proved all things are possible.
They put themselves on the line and struggled to open doors.
Let's walk through them!
Living a life of independent thought is the greatest luxury,
the greatest freedom we, as Americans, have.
To do anything but exercise it is shameful.
All good things begin with an open mind and a desire for truth...
Let's take responsibility for our lives.
Let's step up and make them what we want them to be...
not what we think others want us to be.
"You may say I'm a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you will join us...
and the world will live as one"
-John Lennon
