Nidia Mendoza is one of the most promising new artists on the Reggaeton scene. Both singer and MC this female powerhouse breathes new life into the music genre she describes as "dying". Implementing new drum patterns, incorporating Pop and Hip Hop influences, and offering an alternative to ubiquitous misogynistic lyrics, Nidia delivers a unique sound that simultaneously celebrates, lauds, and challenges Reggaeton..

At 13 years old, when most girls her age had not yet begun to discover their talents, Nidia found her passion in writing original songs. After singing a solo with her school chorus at NJPAC, she caught the performing bug and has'nt turned back. She began performing regularly in the New Jersey area, surprising audiences with her talent, presence and professionalism at just 13 years old. The following year, Nidia began performing internationally, ranking amongst the top in the competition Estrellas del Manana (Stars of Tomorrow) in the Dominican Republic. She also made history as the youngest performer on the popular Dominican television program, Buscando el Exito, at 15. By 17 Nidia was a member of the popular Reggaeton act, Menores. The only woman in the group, she not only performed but also wrote and sang the hooks on the male dominated tracks. Nidia had much more to offer than just four bars. Within a short while Nidia and the groupparted ways, and she set course for her solo career. Nidia's engaging performance style and innovative flow has made her a crowd favorite at festivals such as: the Puerto Rican Day Parade(NJ), Father's Day Festival, and Dominican Republic Day Celebration (NJ). Setting the new tone in Reggaeton she has performed at venues from local hot spots Club Cache to international events at Club Tao, Hamaca Resort Night Club, AND El Leon Club in Dominican Republic. Nidia not only has a mastery in composition and performance, she has honed her skills at the nationally recognized Institute Of Audio Research (NY) and bodes certified audio engineering degree to add technical knowledge to her God given gift. This young starlet is on the fast track from opening up for Nina Sky at the Ritz Theatre (NJ) to her name in the bright lights..
