If you're looking at this page, you actually have an advantage because many songs are here that aren't (or are only clips) on the official site. That may change sometime soon but I'll leave some extra songs up here.
5/8 - another song from the stairwell and the song responsible for the above lyric! check out "new year" on the music page.
3/25 - i've got a new song available for d/l, recorded in my favorite stairwell. it's not a new song in of itself but it's one of my favorites. check out "a single breath held" on the music page.
12/7 - Mike and I are playing at GZ on RPI's campus this Saturday, 12/11, @ 8pm. Admission is just one buck and it's a really cool place. You can check out GZ's site .

Hey, neighbors,
This is Nic Engel, of the solo acoustic guitar-driven odd-timed rock group...Nic Engel. I was starting to get some results from my mp3.com site when it went down so I'm really excited about Soundclick. I'll be adding songs as fast as I can and other information as it comes. By the by, full lyrics are available .
ROCK ON.
I also have a Myspace which has a few other songs.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I picked up guitar in the summer of '96, just before I entered eighth grade. Several friends of mine starting playing around the same time, so we got together. Jinkobah was a hard rock band with some funk/jazz elements. Very cool. Some of it was just weird (see "The Boy" on my music page). I started playing solo guitar in my senior year and, when Jinkobah disbanded two years later, it became my primary focus.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play fairly regularly with my talented friend (and now, colleague) Mike Baker. We generally set up our own shows at North Pointe and but we have some new prospects for the future. Special moments would include playing a concert in a stairwell while shirtless and winning the talent show with a couple friends, by means of an absurd song about James Brown.
Your musical influences
My biggest influence is myself. I have a style that I enjoy and I like knowing when I've written something that captures that essence but also adds something new. In addition, I have always found my inclinations on electric guitar to be somewhat different and trying to integrate those into my acoustic playing is very important to me. The rest, in no particular order, are Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, James Hetfield of Metallica, and rAIF.
What equipment do you use?
A Yairi WY1-K (a dream of a guitar), an Alvarez AD-60CK, and an ART MP Tube preamp. I miss my Mesa DC-5 to death, though.
Anything else?
I like odd times. I hate girls.
