Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've sang informally all of my life! As far as performing formally as Nicci Hampton, I recorded a 2-song demo in Nashville, TN in Oct. and Dec. 2003, and filmed a video for "I Fall" which will be shown on local networks in Nashville, TN on the talent showcase "Be Discovered" 4 times in February 2004.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No. I am just starting out. I sing karaoke on occasion! I think it would be really good for me to get out there and try performing live. Well, actually, I don't know if this counts, but I do sing in front of my church as a member of the Praise Team every week! I enjoy it very much. I have been a "performer" of sorts in choirs for most of my life. I love it and I want to do it full time! I want a music career!
Your musical influences
I have a few different influences ranging from Mariah Carey, Sarah McLachlan, Karen Carpenter, Billy Joel, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles...basically, anyone who really knows how to sing with great feeling. I love harmony as well. If I were to define my style of music, I'd say mostly pop or soft rock. I'm definitely a ballads singer with a good range of highs and lows.
