ABOUT PURGATORY...
We are a band of four consisting of Brent Damery- vocals, rythm guitar; Shawn Thacker- lead guitar; Tony Young- bass; and Jeremy Thacker- drums. We have been together in our present form for about a year with Tony as our bass player. Prior to this we had a bit different sound and a different bass player for two years. We played different types of establishments that required more covers than originals.
Now, however, for the past several months we have been playing original venues in Raleigh such as The Pour House Music Hall, The Brewery, and The Berkely Cafe. We wish to esablish a large fan base in Raleigh and expand from there. There are no boundaries on our hopes and expectations in our music and how far we can take it in our lives.
It is difficult to label the exact style of our music, although it is on the hard rock side. It certainly is not metal, however it would be an understatement to say that none of it is heavy. It has its ups and downs depending on what the music is conveying. There is a time and place for intense, screaming vocals and a time for softer ones. We try to have a blend of both, trying to stay somewhat melodic, while conveying the intensity of whatever mood we're representing.Have you performed in front of an audience?All the time everywhere and hell yes we love to play live!!!
