The Naro Choir of D'Kar, in the Gantsi district of Botswana, was started in 1989. This event had symbolic significance, not only for the wider community but especially for the D'Kar and other congregations of the independent Reformed Churches in Botswana. The San choir made a wonderful blend of their own language and music with those of other cultures. Their traditional music is different from all other African music. They adapted the Setswana music to their own style and rhythm, adding the beauty of their click language and their own interesting harmonies, thus showing something of the richness of God's multi-faceted creation. The characteristic gradual raising of the pitch during a song can point us to raising our level of living.A strong theme through the words of most of their songs is peace and harmony, and joy in the Holy Spirit. The word còrè means 'worship', 'pray', or 'praise' - in their songs, the Naro choir wants to express that it is important to worship God in our lives. The leaders of the choir are Tomku Bob and Marea Camm.
