M.C. F.A.M.E. M.C. F.A.M.E., which stands for Feminite And Mackin Everything, was born in Cleveland, Ohio as Burnetta Patrice Hood and at an early age she acquired a love for poetry and instead of reading Dr.Suess books and other rhyming children books she enjoyed rapping them. In the sixth grade while living in Birmingham, Alabama with her father she was inspired to rap by such female rappers as Roxanne Shante, Queen Latifah and M.C. LYTE. So, she tried it out for herself by entering in her school’s talent show with her first rap, “All About Me”. However female rappers were not her only inspiration, male artist like Curtis Blow and L.L. Cool J. also contributed to her appreciation for rap music. In the ninth grade M.C. F.A.M.E. was doing shows around Cleveland such as the Hough Festival and a performance for Nature Boy, a local producer here in Cleveland who sponsored events on West 25th Street. By 1999 at the Top of the Flats in downtown Cleveland M.C. F.A.M.E promoted a successful concert for local artist such as Black Reign, Inter-City Misfits, Strict 9, and Dead Weight (who featured M.C. F.A.M.E on their song, “Nigga What”). In 2004, M.C. Fame collaborated with another female artist Sarah D. to form the group Hoo-Nu? (Pronounced Who Knew?) They are known for their song titled, “F___ Where Ya From?” Most recently for 2005, M.C. F.A.M.E. is now working on her solo career and also collaborating with other artist by using her talents in singing, songwriting, and rapping. M.C. F.A.M.E. has performed at the Rhythm Room, The Robins Nest and the Hi-Fi Club. She also has an agenda filled with shows and performances lined up for the Spring. M.C.
