My Last Band (LI)

This band is dedicated to producing quality records. We write and record all of our music. We are lucky in that we work at a state of the art recording facility. This allows us to make great records with complete creative control. We give away tunes on our website. mylastband.com
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Making good music takes time and caring. Although these principles can be lost in this fast paced world of immediate gratification, they hopefully haven't been lost with MY LAST BAND. As musicians and songwriters each with a variety of musical experiences to draw from, MY LAST BAND is about refining the basic elements of rock music and writing good songs. Frank Giachetto was for many years one of the guitarists for the great Long Island band (A Day For Honey) and has now resurfaced as one third of musical entity known as MY LAST BAND. In MY LAST BAND Frank has teamed up with his lifelong friend Chris Cauley who formerly played with another great Long Island band (One Green Mile) and bassist Dan Bolze (who has performed in more states than most can name). Together they write and perform their own brand of rock that is influenced by bands like Cheap Trick, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Sonic Youth. All of them are very heavily involved in recording and producing at Vipen Studios in Shirley N.Y., but having access to technology has not changed the minimalist approach to song writing. MY LAST BAND is about three instruments and good clean vocal melodies. MLB has performed in a variety of venues over the last few months and each show has been different. The band enjoys presenting its material in a variety of ways, depending on what the venue calls for. Some nights are acoustic with varied percussion, others call for a full rock onslaught. The band released their first three song demo in May 2004 and is currently recording a full length album at Vipen Studios in Shirley NY. Check out the demo versions of their songs on the music page of this site. Musicians: Frank: guitars and vox Dan: bass Chris: drums and percussion
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live at least once a week. We do acoustic and electric gigs. We enjoy playing the tunes in different ways.
Your musical influences
We love Sunny Day Real Estate, Cheap Trick, Sonic Youth, The Cars,The Beatles, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. We like catchy tunes that have a sadness in them.
What equipment do you use?
We have a lot of amps and guitars to work with. We like to use old tube amps. We have used Fender, Marshall, Hiwatt, Ampeg, Vox,Ampeg, Roland. Fender basses and mostly Gibson guitars. SG's and Les Pauls. There is a Tele track on a few tunes too.
