Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born in 1976 in East London (South Africa), Drew grew up in the metropolitan city of Johannesburg. From a young age, music played a big role in his family. His interest in music was always supported so it was inevitable that it would turn out as an integral part of his own life.
Guitar became his main instrument for a while and he joined many different bands while still at school. The result of this was his first album deal at age fourteen.
After school, he found together with friends the band Forrest not only playing guitar but also fronting the band on Vocals. Forrest established itself in the South African Rock scene, got a record deal with Lush Records and toured for four years.
After that time, Drew got to know the South African jazz guitar legend Jonathan Crossley, with whom he cultivated a strong friendship until now. The two were working and experimenting together in South Africa till 2004, when Drew decided to discover new ways and moved to Berlin, Germany
