Musikal Mekanik
Quentin J. Thompson is a jack of all music genres’ master of none. All the music that I compose is a fusion of past, present and future. I am a studio composer, producer, and songwriter. I mainly compose instrumentals with meaning. The titles of the music paint you a picture of what the song consist of.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I’m a one man band. I collaborate with other artist as much as possible to keep my ear to the street of the music changes and latest sound effects.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No, I mainly compose in my home studio. But, I will consider playing live.
Your musical influences
First I would have to say my Mother .She got me started listening to music at an early age. She would buy 45’s and albums by the truckloads. I would listen to music all the time. I said one day I would combine all the music styles and come up with something people could feel. As far as musical influences I would have to say the late Roger Troutman of the Zapp Band. Also Paul Hardcastle.
What equipment do you use?
Keyboard,QY-10 sequencer , Drum machine.
Anything else?
I try to give the feeling that individuals are listening to a well orchestrated band.I try not to create a repetitive track.When you listen to my music you will hear instruments not used anymore by producers or composers.Just listen and you be the judge, but give me a fair chance.My goal and dream is to do music for movies and films.I could take any piece of footage and bring it to life.Happy or sad.Do me a favor?
