The song came from an ex girlfriend that kept on asking me to tell her that I love her even if I didn't. The ex girlfriend said she just wanted to hear the words, but I told her I only say it, when I mean it. I ended up just pulling away from her because I didn't want to live a lie. She stated that she better not see me out anywhere with another woman at any time, but she got over it and married and divorced since then.
