I'm deeply clairvoyant. Can't build the spaceship, fly it and complain about the turbulance I suppose. https://diversityamateurs.crd.co/
In the early 90's and 2000's no one was really checking for poets. Russell Simmons' Def Poetry Jam was what us poets wanted to be on for our chance. With undiagnosed social anxiety at the time. The path to get there was too tricky for me. The music industry wasn't messing with Conscious or Political Rap either. Growing up with the influence of Public Enemy, Paris, X-Clan as well as others. I never shunned from stepping into the world to uplift. Maturity is what Tupac and Biggie needed like all young Black Males. I learned how to make beats because very few were dealing with Poets and "That heady shit". Though never shared. I adopted software music (electronic music and daws) early. Specifically Logic Pro software/Akai hardware,MacBook Pro 2005. Also adopted music software distribution channels early. It was the wild Wild West 18 years ago(really longer, think “starlight Quincy Jones and Hammond plug ins software hardwear[flex]! I placed work on sites that went under, changed their policies unbeknownst to me about financial data, etc. Even the reporting of your data has become more transparent. I didn't know in 2012 I had that many views on this site. It wasn't an option to see then. I’ve also lost or had stolen, more than I care to remember passwords, hard drives and laptops with original stems of my creations produced by me. I also say all that to say when these sounds became available they were NEW, cutting edge. I would travel every Monday on my day off to attend a producer masterclass in person to learn how to use my then very new to the music industry 'Maschine Studio’. From the best of the best in the industry. The class was off West 14th in NYC. I would drive from VT at the time to NYC. First day of class I win the how far did you come to get here prize. Extra time with the instructor. I’ve put in work. For the Love of Hip Hop. With the onslaught of Ashanti, Taylor Swift and rulings by the FCC. More importantly what Mr. George Cinton and his Family have done to claw back his copyright and publishings for black artist behind the scenes for decades. I can get most of my stuff back, modify work off uncooperative sites (if you were texted “Nazca Lines, you know)and have upon written request. It’s been arduous.

Story behind the song
At the time this was written (2007), I'd never been on a transport bus and then driven to a facility like CFCF in Philly. Due to a sentencing "snafu", I was sent there in 2010 for 3 days, in order to satisfy a DUI obligation. Home for a pivotal Generational Matriarch's funeral of a prominent extended Family member, Penn Relay weekend. Later that evening, I went to (then)Palmer Night Club like I did any time since I'd been sneaking in under 21. Because I knew how to mimic their member passes...Visiting from out of town after living in VT. Though just allowed in. The things I did as a child did not work as a man, after da club. Like sleep in the car. With keys in pocket and sleep in car at a meter. I was charged with a DUI. Although my paper work would say I was driving. But they didn't touch the weed. So I guess I got off lucky. Still never been in the pen pen like Graterford. However, was shackled to Brothers that are still incarcerated to this day somewhere. Even though I was temporarily there for 72 hours. The Brothers that I was transported, processed with and especially my "cellies" at CFCF are unforgettable. These are individuals that I broke slimy wet bread and apples that smelled like balls with. While encouraging me, teaching me the kool-aide currency system and how to shit and flush. I no longer drink...much..now. That experience like 5th and St. Julian is locked in my brain forever. The irony is the photo that accompanies this song is the night at Palmers before I left to sleep in my car. What a commemoration of what not to do when you get home and "let your hair down". What is even more important to point out is if it wasn't for the resources of my Immediate Family. I would have been flushed. Reckoning one year from 50, I used a lot of what would've been college money on staying out of prison. Although, there is a reason for that....System Downloading.....on how to write that part without bitterness. But those who knew me from high school know what's up.
