There's nothing I'd rather do than play music. I write my own songs, but also enjoy playing the work of Kate Wolf, Richard Thompson, the Grateful Dead, and many other musicians too numerous to mention. The songs I write tap into the same veins of insight, inspiration, and ecstasy that my favorite musicians channel so well.

Story behind the song
According to Lama Govinda, Locana is the consort of Vajrasattva, the primary Buddha of the purifying Eastern water dimension, although other Buddhist sources refer to her as Nyema. For a couple of years, I had the privilege of meditating with a sweet young Pisces woman who I found to be the embodiment of intuitive, non-focussed, floating femininity. My friends didn't understand her or our relationship--they thought she should be more intellectual and focussed, like a man. They didn't know what they were missing...don't know that they've figured it out yet. She was half my age and has gone on to a more age-appropriate partner, which I always knew was part of the deal (I was helping her leave an abusive relationship and wanted her to strengthen herself, not rely on me!), but that doesn't stop me from sending warm, supportive thoughts and prayers her way.
Lyrics
locana lady queen of cups lady scarcely seen floats in water is the water shades of blue and green so soft and moist that all that's hard swears she don't exist but when i slow and float with her what i find is this changing levels, rising clouds a higher view appears letting go of all desire of all my hopes and fears this shadow play's a shadow play you are reality i'm just an actor on your stage there is no one who's me lady on your lotus throne shine your light through me purify me, don't deny me let me, let me see may all that i do be for you do what you will with me bless me to be one with you and bring this world to peace
