Lord B comes back and hits the big time. A long waited return made of enthusiasm and beauty.
One of the most prolific Italian musicians comes back with his impressive repertoire, featuring the best Jazz and Rock artists of the Italian and British XXI century's scene. Each song is an amazing journey through a coloured world made of notes, chords and feelings. Pure joy. You don't need anything else anymore.
Story behind the song
They say that, apart from a few doubtful exceptions, no one has written a piece worthy of joining the ranks of Jazz Standards for at least fifty years. Lord B proves them wrong. This composition, penned in 1998, shines in the purest tradition of the genre a sparkling homage to the most classic Standards. A true miracle that elevates the already vast repertoire of this Italian maestro to new heights. And the arrangement? Conceived for a Hyperbig Band so grand that Duke Ellington himself would have dreamt of it. This is not just music: it’s history in the making.
Lyrics
Honey can't you see, I'm tired of being lonely
when you take your time all day long
we've been going steady
ùor so many seasons,
I don't know what you're drivin' at
Yes, I understand everything you tell me
yes, I know you're such a live wire
But you never spend a little time
to stay with me and love me,
baby I feel neglected,
darling don't you now that I'm
sick and tired of you
I always think about you, doin' the shoppin' for you,
then I feed your horrible dogs,
I keep clean your home and then I do your bed,
and prepare the dinners for you
never an embrace, you never say you love me,
what the hell am I doin' it for?
I prepare the evenings for us two
with candlelights, then you feel a headache:
darlin' you should know that I'm
sick and tired of you
Now I get away, I can't stand it longer
I'm not one of your employees,
you used me as your doormat
just because I loved you
all you do is avail of me
that's why I wrote this letter,
now I'm feelin' better
you won't find me when you get home
So maybe one day you will understand
the meaning of it all but it will be too late,
darling now you know that I'm
sick and tired of you
