Lyrics
She wondered what she could have been thinking
Last night when she put all this together
It was obvious the cow didn’t belong there
Nor did all those light bulbs.
The sculpture was a total failure
And the living room was an utter disaster
What could she have been thinking
She carefully guided the cow across the floor
And out the front door
Tied it up on the lawn
She unscrewed the lightbulbs from the 16 chandeliers
Filling up two paper bags with them
She ripped the painted paper
From the chicken wire structure
Dismantling all the small objects nesting in there
And sending them clattering all over the floor
She took a broom and swept all the debris
Into a big pile in the middle of the room
She felt like setting fire to the pile
And burning down the house
But then she wouldn’t have anywhere to go
So she went out and got a shovel and a wheelbarrow
Shoveled the remains into the wheelbarrow
Wheeled it to the garbage dump
Swept the floor again
Then she sat down musing
What could she have been thinking of
