Time and expectations
My age doesn't suit my mood
Anxiety, anticipation
But the mountains have never moved
The Spirit of the ages
Comforts me in stages
But wisdom is useless
When there's nothing I can do
Complaining, debating
Heaven's hesitating
I'm just waiting
The good book says there's a time for rest
And there's nothing new under the sun
But the hardest test once I've done my best
Is accepting that my journey has just begun
The Spirit of the ages
Colors many stages
And reminds me that
There's nothing better to do
Absolving, redeeming
Heaven's contemplating
