Home of the honorable Reverend Black Dog
Reverend Black Dog (previously Reverend Blackdog) is a singer songwriter performing live, original songs. After hearing friends jam on acoustic guitars, in a Bluemound, Texas backyard, circa 1981, Ron (Reverend Black Dog) bought his own guitar and started recording his own impromptu songs and jams. "Life is more important than art! The past is gone, what is gone is no more, what is now is forever!" - Reverend Black Dog, Dec. 4th, 2025. Reverend Blackdog is revolutionary, radical, very far from the center of public opinion, with ideas that no one seems to be going for; The term black dog is a way of referring to feelings of depression, sadness, melancholy; despondency; the blues, possibly in reference to the mythological black, three-headed demon dog that patrols the house of Hades in Greek mythology. "No company is more hateful than your own, the black dog follows you, and hangs close with hungry fangs." (Horace). The name, Reverend Blackdog was also influenced by the artist name, Black Ace; and songs, Black Snake Moan and Black Dog Blues (by Blind Blake) as well as Black Dog by Led Zeppelin and the Chinese astrological signs Snake and Dog. "Reverend" is a traditional title of respect prefixed to the name of a member of the Christian clergy to which Reverend Blackdog is not part of, and uses with all due respect. - Reverend Black Dog, 11/30/25.

Story behind the song
"Fast Nowhere" is a single edit from the album, "In The Thick Of It" (3/29/25), recorded live, acoustic and impromptu with voice and acoustic guitar. "Horrible, no control, destruction, battling, fighting in a hellhole, lost in space, hopium, Trump, Biden (both no good) while the real things get sidetracked, the dark agendas still move forward. Twisted, nothing good, as we move away from nature into where all these betrayers are taking us, further away all the time! Getting wasted was a thing when I was younger, 'Ye ha party time!' Yeah, quite a few of my old friends are dead now. From drinking? I don't know, but drinking isn't necessarily good, and the irony is, the healthier you are the more you can get away with it! - Is it just another diversion from what we should really be doing? And what should we really be doing?" - RBD. In The Thick Of It was recorded in monophonic sound; Album edit 7, text edit 12/2/25. (P) & (C) 2025 Reverend Black Dog. "After hearing friends jam on acoustic guitars in a Blue Mound, Texas backyard circa 1981 I was hooked. Eventually getting my own guitar and recording my own jams and songs. Life is more important than art! The past is gone, what is gone is no more, what is now is forever!" - Reverend Black Dog, Dec. 2nd, 2025.
Lyrics
Fast blues is all I knew. Fast women is all I knew. Until I met you. Fast money, spend it all, it's not funny. Fast mind, leave the others behind. It's all I knew, until I met you. "You want..you want a guitar?" Yeah, fast guitar .. no money, until I met you. GUITAR. I was going nowhere until I met you. (c) 2025 Reverend Blackdog. All rights reserved.
