More folk pop, written for an old friend who traveled the world.
folk rock folk pop
Folk music for postmoderns
I am what you might call a musical generalist. I listen to pretty much everything and I compose in pretty much any style, though I concentrate mainly on folk, folk-rock, rock, synth-pop, alternative, comedy, musical theatre, jazz, new-age, film music, avant-garde, and the occasional lullaby (why sing your kid to sleep with "Rock-a-bye Baby" when you can can create something personalized?). I've done most of my professional (i.e. paid) work in the theatre, where I've been musical director for dozens of productions. I was also musical director of Mental Floss, the legendary Miami improv group, for over 500 performances; I recently did a stint with Laughing Gas, which rose from the ashes of Mental Floss 11 years ago to become the longest running improv group in South Florida. As a singer-songwriter, I've concentrated most of my energy on my signature style of synth-driven folk-rock (sort of Indigo Girls meets Vangelis). I'm also something of a minor celebrity in the world of Filk (folk music for science fiction fans), where I am proud to be the object of the worlds smallest international fan base.

Lyrics
If I could travel 'round the world I'd take a year or two And cut the lines connecting me To ev'rything I knew I'd linger in each port of call Until my time was through And photograph my memories To show them all to you And when my travels all were done I'd know I was alive But the greatest journey's just begun If you will be my guide They say the body's tough enough To heal most any wound And a heart will beat a billion times Before a life is through But if a heart is weakened by The pain of love's mistakes A body ages early And a heart is apt to break And every love I've left behind To travel on my own Has signed her name upon my mind So I am not alone Always returning to where you begin Looking glass lady outside looking in See how a dream can get under your skin If I could travel back in time And live my life again I know I'd make the same mistakes That I made back then I wouldn't alter anything I'd take back not a day For I am where I want to be And love my life this way And every time I've felt regret A shadow on my heart I've turned that feeling into hope Another chance to start Choices you make at a fork in the road Follow you always into the unknown For right or for wrong, let the choice be your own
