Folk music for postmoderns
I am what you might call a musical generalist. I listen to pretty much everything and I compose in pretty much any style, though I concentrate mainly on folk, folk-rock, rock, synth-pop, alternative, comedy, musical theatre, jazz, new-age, film music, avant-garde, and the occasional lullaby (why sing your kid to sleep with "Rock-a-bye Baby" when you can can create something personalized?). I've done most of my professional (i.e. paid) work in the theatre, where I've been musical director for dozens of productions. I was also musical director of Mental Floss, the legendary Miami improv group, for over 500 performances; I recently did a stint with Laughing Gas, which rose from the ashes of Mental Floss 11 years ago to become the longest running improv group in South Florida. As a singer-songwriter, I've concentrated most of my energy on my signature style of synth-driven folk-rock (sort of Indigo Girls meets Vangelis). I'm also something of a minor celebrity in the world of Filk (folk music for science fiction fans), where I am proud to be the object of the worlds smallest international fan base.

Lyrics
[Verse 1] Two by two we swim the flood It's hard to keep your head above The rainbow fades, the earth renews We struggle through the life we choose In darkness and light Through doors against the night Past rivers in the rain On the sidewalks, through the echoes of a distant passing train [Verse 2] For after all, we're only men And what was dust is dust again We turn the fields and pass our lives In moments never realized And youth is a dream A poorly lit scene Unrehearsed and overacted Tending to extremes [Chorus] And in our town You need never lock your door You have lived here No matter where you're born But the ice comes And the angry waters rise It's a new world So we gather up our lives Against the cold Against the rain Against the winds of war that tore this home Up from its foundation The clamor and the sea change The ever-burning mark of Cain And when I have to start again I count the hours passing by The stars that light the evening sky The words that try to tell us why [Outro] Two by two we swim the flood It's hard to keep your head above
