A Touch of Magic
Comment Share
A 1973 gem that somehow slipped through the cracks of mainstream memory but still hits like a warm hug from your teenage self. A song by the late James Leroy, who also penned hits "You Look Good in Denim", "Make It All Worthwhile, and "Lady Ellen".

Story behind the song
James Leroy was a Canadian singer, songwriter, and recording artist known for his folk and pop-rock music. Born on April 3, 1947, in Ottawa, Ontario, Leroy began his music career as a folk singer and songwriter for local bands. He was managed by local impresario Harvey Glatt, who produced his first single, "Touch of Magic," which reached Number 6 on the Canadian Top Singles Chart. Leroy's music career included the formation of the band Denim, which released the album "Denim" in 1973, featuring hits like "Touch of Magic" and "You Look Good in Denim." Despite his success, Leroy struggled with a solo career and ultimately died from suicide in 1979. His music continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by fans of Canadian pop-rock.
Lyrics
1. Just a touch of magic - In her eyes Never had this feeling before - No, never like that 2. She ain't so pretty - But that doesn't matter to me She's someone that I can talk to - Means a lot to me [Chorus:] And I, yes I, will give you everything I have to give - And I, will share with you everything 'Cause that's the way, two people, have to be... [*Chorus] 3. Just a touch of magic - Never had that feeling before There was someone,, waiting for me - Holding out her, hand And I, yes I, will give you everything I have to give And I will share with you, everything Yes I, yes I, will give you everything I have to give And I, will share with you, everything Yes I, yes I, will give you everything I have to give
