Lyrics
Time's Gettin' Away [03/13/2021] Intro: [C] For another day we watch the sun go down, for the millionth time the world goes spinni' 'round. Don't mean to complain or make a fuss but dear Old Time's gettin' away from us. [V] Yesterday we were so young and spry. Go from here to there and back in the blink of an eye. We'd smoke, drink and cuss. We'd act not discuss. And dear Old Time he would wait for us. [C] Yet another day we watch the sun go down. And for the millionth time the world goes spinni' 'round. Don't mean to sound off, bitch or make a fuss but dear Old Time's gettin' away from us. [V] Our younger days don't seem that long behind. Once upon a time the world was yours and mine. Once 'pon a time that's how the story goes, now those days seem long ago. And dear Old Time is slowlin' down our flow. [C] For another day we watch the sun go down. And for the millionth time the world goes spinni' 'round. Don't mean to complain or make a fuss but dear Old Time's gettin' away from us. Instrumental: [C] Another day we watch the sun go down. And for the millionth time the world goes spinni' 'round. Don't mean to kick and scream or make a fuss but dear Old Time's gettin' away from us. [V] It's our bodies now that dictate our life, those wild, young days they came with a price. For our new reality we must adjust, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, dear Old Time has gotten away from us. [C] For another day we watch that sun go down. And for the millionth time that world goes spinn 'round. Don't mean to complain or make a fuss but dear Old Time's gettin' away from us. Hey Doug, great to meet another Canadian on here. Been through Montreal on the way to the east coast, but never spent any time there. Next time though, after Covid ends...if that every happens. Really soulful tune here, and I could relate to the lyrics. Each year seems to go by faster and faster. Before we know if our kids are in college/university, getting married, and making us (gulp) grandparents! Like the harp in this, the vocals have a really good edge, guitar has just the right amount of grit, and the mix is very good.
