Mrcorbett is the musical alter ego of English Singer-Songwriter Warren Jenks, Mrcorbett is a quirky lyrical chap who loves to dabble in many styles of music.

Born few many moons ago, I've been writing songs since i was a wee nipper but only got brave enough to let others hear them when I was old enough not to worry if they were any good, luckily I've sold quite a few since and have performed live over a thousand times. What's even more amazing is that I never get bored of making up some new ones and trying them out on your fine ears!

Story behind the song

I always wanted to write a song around the same chords all the way through, which goes against my natural tinker and add work ethic. Anyway I found this nice four chord demo which i had marked down for a possible chorus and built the song around it.

Everything fell very nicely into place with this one, the intro is a personal favorite as is the solo, the words i'm 90% happy with now (three years later) I always feel i can do better, but the song goes along very well.

This song became in 2017 the first ever song of mine to be played on BBC Radio Introducing, the fact that it took me eight years and over fifty songs to get played proves that you should never ever give up!

Saw a token walk in empty streets of why, so dropped the road I took to think and realize

I saw that token walk and it was jumping at the sky, living on the now forgiving days past by. He sang sweetly at the trees and played puddles in the lane, he’s finally seen the light and won the losing game. He’s figured out the answers without opinion swaying lies and now leaps at the future knowing everything’s alright.
