Story behind the song
This is a pre mixed version of Shane Howard's awesome song from the 80's Solid Rock. This song was a bridge between cultures in Australia at the time and is a huge part of Australian cultural history. Sadly Shane's powerful lyrics are as relevant today as they ever where. Little has changed for many of our Indigenous people. The land is still at the mercy of those who would cut down native forests and pollute The Great Reef with silt to make a few extra dollars. This version is my more angry and disappointed vocal delivery and along with the pounding drums of my friend Donovan Gall and the scorching lead play from Ian Cameron on GUITAR! Ben Mansfield (Acoustic) Tracy Lundgren (backing vox) and Bill Hall bass guitar and the brilliant work of Ed Drury on didgeridoo. The Bull Roarer is sacred to many Australian Aboriginal tribes and as such should not be heard. I have created the electronic emulation of the instrument heard on this track so as not to offend my Indigenous friends. However, I hope it sets the fear of Gods into the hearts of those who would mess with this beautiful land
