Story behind the song
A song about drink basically. Musically 2 songs influence the most here: Tom Petty's 'Last Dance With Mary Jane' and Shawn Colvin's 'Sonny Came Home'. So you get a rougher verse and a smoother chorus, I think! *Look out for forthcoming remix of this track in a more contemporary rock style!
Lyrics
There's a madman in my head I think he's drinking Ignoring what I said It doesn't sink in So if you hear him let me know Tell him, tell him make him go What did I just do I wasn't thinking There's no way I can get through I see you're drinking So if you don't mind let it flow Tell him, tell him make him go Hold out your hand Close your eyes dear I'll fill your glass again There will be no fear In our whiskey coloured world In our whiskey coloured world The world is spinnig round I think I'm sinking Are you gonna come with me Or just keep drinking Well I think I need to go But then again I don't know

Totally lovin this song, I'm a bigtime Petty fan as it is, then to read your influences on your bio page was a hoot. Even as much as this reminds me of Petty, your voice is your own, and love the raw quality in it, really fits the words to the song. Will be hearing more off your songlist soon, take care and keep on keepin on. Great job! ~strummergurl~
