Lyrics
Am I awake or am I dreaming? It is so hard to tell You have numbed my better senses You know me so well Something in me has to know the workings of your spell But I'm so close that I can't see what's in store for me Can you give me one small clue or must I keep running blind? Could you tell me anything new? Will I be left behind? You have me so curious Intriguing. I'm hypnotized but blind Is this the truth or just a cruel lie? Has it been all a farce? One day I'm basking in your love light Next day I'm in the dark Your alluring bright brown eyes continue to mesmerize Will I ever learn your secret? Will you ever tell? Constantly a back-and forth. Contentment to despair What you've done to my poor heart is more than just unfair It's so hard to see it through and fine what really pleases you. (Break) Is there a way for me to know exactly where I stand? Could you make it a bit more clear? Do I misunderstand what you're really all about? I beg you. Please don't leave me behind c 2022 John Bowen

Thanks, Tom. Maybe my bass is a bit "busy" because I don't have a guitar player on my tracks.

Another good one here John. A little "busy" on the bass line, for me (there's a theme here John). The melodic choices you make with the bass are good; sometimes quite excellent. BUT, I played in too many three piece rock bands, with guitar player bassists. Dusty Hill held down the bottom and stayed out of Billy's way. I guess that it is what I tend to want to hear. It's really my failing, not yours. You have a "style", be true to that. You've (this is the "royal" you "vous", not "tu" meaning John Bowen) got to "trust" your instincts. "unto thine own self be true" Tom
