We Wish You a Merry Christmas (Christian Version)
Here's a new treatment for the well-known holiday song. The additional words add a little reminder of the real meaning of the season. Makes a great benediction at the end of a holiday service!
Story behind the song
You can use the traditional 6/8 setting, or do it in 4/4 like the demo. Either way, it's easy for the congregation/audience to jump in and sing along.
Chords are provided for musicians. Please feel free to download the demo, perform it freely in your worship services and concerts. I have only one request: that you include it in your regular CCLI reporting. CCLI Song # 5692257.

We (E)wish you a Merry (A)Christmas,
We (F#)wish you a Merry (B)Christmas,
We (G#)wish you a Merry (C#m)Christmas, and a (A)Happy (B) New (E)Year.
Good (E)tidings we (B)bring
To (C#m)you and (F#)your (B)kin.
Good (E)tidings for Christmas, and a (A2)Happy (B)New (E)Year.
Yes, (E)Jesus is the (A)Reason
For (F#)this happy, blessed (B)season
In (G#)every do(C#m)minion where His (A2)name is (B) a(E)dored.
He (E)came here to (B)earth
To (C#m)bring the (F#) New (B)Birth
To (E)all who receive Him as (A2)Savior (B) and (E)Lord.
He (E)fills us with joy and (A)gladness,
Gives (F#)meaning to all the (B)madness.
In (G#)this world of fear and (C#m)sadness, our (A2)hope is (B) re(E)stored
He (E)came here to (B)earth
To (C#m)bring the (F#) New (B)Birth
To (E)all who receive Him as (A2)Savior (B) and (E)Lord.

[Words Only Below:]
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin.
Good tidings for Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Yes, Jesus is the Reason
For this happy, blessed season
In every dominion where His name is a-dored.
He came here to earth
To bring the New Birth
To all who receive Him as Savior and Lord.
He fills us with joy and gladness,
Gives meaning to all the madness.
In this world of fear and sadness, our hope is restored
He came here to earth
To bring the New Birth
To all who receive Him as Savior and Lord.
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas,
We wish you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring
To you and your kin.
Good tidings for Christmas, and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings for Christmas
And a happy,
And a healthy,
And a Christ-filled New Year.
