Something Wrong With My Heart
A new member over a jpfolks.com posted his first lyric and I liked it. I decided to take a crack at the music (and I needed my 30th song!). My first run through of a verse/chorus put the song at about 6 minutes -- so I had to cut.
FDP Jam Tracks
This band page is going to be used for all of the jam tracks that have been posted by the FDP users at the "Home Recording" section at FenderForum.com. Check it out. Folks lay down basic bass/drums/guitar/effect tracks and allow users to add guitar and other parts. Pretty cool.
Story behind the song
A new member over a jpfolks.com posted his first lyric and I liked it. I decided to take a crack at the music (and I needed my 30th song!). My first run through of a verse/chorus put the song at about 6 minutes -- so I had to cut. The original lyrics are here: http://www.jpfolks.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/838154/ . I am not sure about my vocals here, but I did what I could. I'll probably make another demo down the road as the lyrics get changed (or even if they don't change)
Lyrics
There's Something Wrong With My Heart
(c) Wayne/Emmrich 2010
(verse)
I can tell by your eyes when you are looking my way,
I can tell by your laughter at the things that I say,
You're busy building a dream.
(verse)
So before you go further and take that first leap,
I want to tell you right now there's a secret I keep
I'm really not what I seem.
(Chorus)
There's something wrong with my heart,
It doesn't love like it should,
It's been abused and mishandled,
Now it's damaged goods,
So proceed at your own peril, if you need me.
(verse)
Now I'm attracted to you as I am sure you can tell
I'm pulling hard on the brakes but falling under your spell,
Just like a runaway train,
(verse)
So I'm warning you now, you'd best jump off while you can
You've got the right kind of feeling for the wrong kind of man
You'll only end up in pain.
(Chorus again)
(verse/bridge)
I could say let's be friends but that's some well-traveled bull
For as long as you're near I will succumb to your pull
So turn away from me now and please don't ever look back
Keep your heart locked up tight, don't let me slip through the cracks.
(Chorus again)
