Hey everybody, Teig here. I'm the singer (i guess) and guitar player for Happenstance. We're recording our first full length CD soon, If you are a fan of indie rock or just good music in general, keep checking back because we'll be adding full band songs soon. Right now, we have available some songs of Mark Montaruli (piano) and I running thru some older stuff. The singing is a little off, but the songs were pretty much first run-throughs and half written. The new songs are equal parts roots-rock and spacey, Coldplay-ish stuff. The songs took a while to craft out and flesh to where they are now, so when you get the finished version, expect some really great stuff. It's not your average College band fare... it isn't a dave matthews sounding project at all, but we're aiming to make a great piece of art, so we hope you enjoy it when its done.

Story behind the song
Teig: "This song was written while in a funk. Elliott Smith, great songwriter, died right while i was playing with the idea of this song. It's basically about not being able to turn down your past. You can try to forget it, but you never will. but its good in a way, because your past shaped who you are now." Mark: "Spooky shit."
Lyrics
oh the ghost dug her grave and took one step into the shelter she'd designed for herself and all the pain in the world couldn't save her now and remember how she said it would always come back around ten fold oh how i dreamed it would but now its just a lullaby now its just a lullaby now its just a lullaby for those we'd forget if we could oh the captain was proud of all the pirates he had sent to the bottom of the sea and his plunder you can't count you can't describe with words but he was always aching inside without giving second thoughts to the wrongs he had done and how the children cried how they sank and remember how they said it would always come back around ten fold oh how i dreamed it would but now its just a lullaby now its just a lullaby now its just a lullaby for those we'd forget if we could oh the virgin was married today just a few short moments and she was giving herself away she'd never forget she'd never forget she'd never forget and remember how she said it would always come back around ten fold oh how i dreamed it would but now its just a lullaby now its just a lullaby now its just a lullaby for those we'd forget if we could
