Lyrics
Disrupting our lives and our futures with bombs So you can teach young boys and soldiers not to cry Leaving our hearts in a quandary that could lead to our eventual demise so we can just taste the prize of victory and bask Under the sweet melody of peace Nodding our heads and burying our reason In colors of red, white, and blue Blurring the distance between being sound in mind and beyond reason We no longer question sanctity As bloodguilt lies in a series of bars Across the professed white purity of our country And the blue represents the oceans that were not quite Deep enough, nor rugged enough, nor wide enough To shield this great country From the falls of its two greatest bishops Leaving the government in check The mouse so well hidden While our youth are losing future While they are sent in ships and planes To the other side of the hemisphere To kill this man or bring him here Who is responsible for the deaths of our mothers And who took away our hope for uniting as brothers 6,000 lives are claimed by death While 50 stars sing anthems of togetherness Pop princess by the rock legend by the folk singer To unite our nation with the only vibe That calms an agitated spirit? In a nation that argues over which fashions Will get you noticed this fall While babies are dying of AIDS in Africa And the very apple of a woman?s cheek Is never seen under the dark veil of Taliban Woman losing lives because they will not Respect the commands of a monger Waiting for relief by the hands of a stranger And in some homes fathers are losing their tempers With bursts of anger cause 2,648 innocents can no longer catch their breaths And even the tolls in Afghanistan cannot cancel Out their deaths and their blood and remains call out to us From the American rubble The debris loaded with pounds of flesh And deceased thoughts parish along with The memories of lives and loves and hates? The claiming of innocence must be justice for an evil institution with a wrongful government That provides liberty and justice for all? They have us in checkmate And we could lose it all And we are scared Cause the enemy is within.
