Although LIFO's music could be considered alternative, noisy rock, it's members draw from influences as diverse as Hum, Skinny Puppy, Glassjaw, Tool, Tori Amos, Cave-In, Harry Nilsson, Deftones, Fugazi, The Police, Pink Floyd, Craig David, Mars Volta, and Rush. Each member incorporates their influences into every song to create a unique and recognizable style of music. This all comes to a devastating head live, where emotion runs rampant and gives way to total cacaphony and euphporic insanity. Cocky huh? Well beneathe this artsy fartsy veneer lies 4 very normal young 'uns just as human as you reading this. They had zits when they were younger, they've all had to get uncomfortable physical exams, they all get sick and violently vomit all over the place, they all fart....loud, they've all hurt others and have been hurt themselves, they all have watched The Goonies (and love Chunk) during the wee hours of morning, they all have had their own share of personal tragedies and revelations, and most of all.... they all maintain a sense of humor. They'll be the first to tell you that their music represents not one but EVERY human emotion and has imperfections, as humans generally do.

Lyrics
The air's like fire and my lungs forgot to breathe sans the heat Oxygen is the fire's great tragedy It likes to leave Yes, it likes to be the one to leave me This is where the fostering sheath of ambiguity ends And where the rigid steel of reality begins This is the materialization of a slanted rhyme Because I don't want to be an animated metaphor anymore This is where we ride off into smogless sunsets On roads paved with uncertainty This is where hail marys are an inclination Of not fear or tradition, but philanthropy The sun's too bright and my eyes forgot to see legitimacy So draw the blinds with hands made world-weary and you-weary And plug all the holes with concrete Move to the beat of my heart No counterpart This is where I say I hate you and nations of zealots rejoice But I don't hate, I heal, and the pin-striped shamen prescribe me to teens I'm the long sleeves dressing your wrists This is where you roll me up with pride This is where the radio speaks to us, not for us This is where we're defined by character, not pension This is where we climax with love, not lust This is where I remember to breathe The road to freedom is dotted with lives less lifeless
