Story behind the song
Imagine a dark room where a lone figure sits by the piano near a window, his hands caressing the ivory keys, shimmering faintly from the reflected light from the moon.
Gerald starts singing as the credits begin to roll.
During the interlude, the camera pans out towards the moon and then follows its rays to another window, where Hester is dreamily staring out into the countryside.
She begins singing the second verse until the chorus when the two figures connected by silvery beads of light sing the duet, a song of longing and love.
CUT
In the finale, the two will sing the song to Mrs Arbuthnot, where the interpretation of the lyrics of the song change from one of passionate love between two lovebirds, to one of unconditional acceptance and support between family members who value each other, their faults and all.
