Story behind the song
This is a 30s piece that aired on radio in the Philippines for Globe Telecom. Globe is one of the largest telecommunication service providers in the country, similar to Verizon or AT&T.
They wanted to communicate that their call and text prepaid service now had no expiry, unlike other networks. I decided to peg the radio similar to the movie 2012, especially during that time when it was just released on theaters. People were thus naturally attracted to the sound design, thinking it was a trailer.
In addition to writing radio, print and tv commercials, my job as a copywriter in Publicis JimenezBasic also involved being in close contact with recording studios, such as for this piece.
