I am a high school indie artist who also does VA work on the side. (VA=voice acting) I'm particularily into post-indie J-Pop and J-Rock bands like Ikimono-gakar
I'm an indie artist in the local Tri-Cities Area in British Columbia, Canada, and I am currently going into my second year of high school. The only complete track that I have right now is my first single, "Keep It Up" which won in the top 10 finalists of the 2006 Songs That Make a Difference songwriting contest that was held by the School Alliance of Student Songwriters. I was the youngest winner at the time... XP I'm currently working on my first album, "Random Thoughts" that includes both vocal tracks as well as instrumental tracks on the piano or on the flute.

Story behind the song
In January 2010, an audition for "Project Garage 2010" was held, aimed at high school bands and musicians who wrote their own material. Those who got chosen would be able to record their song professionally in a local studio. Vicky and I never got it (well, no duh, we only spent a few hours rehearsing in our off-blocks because the audition was that day! >.< ) but we had so much fun~! ^^ Who knows? We might do it again next year~ ^^ So, the story behind the actual song, it was meant to be a character song for one of my characters. The original version had a bridge that didn't have a concrete melody. In the end, the bridge got scrapped. A bass part was written later for Vicky to perform with, since we also had gotten a gig at the local church's charity talent showcase for a mission trip to Mexico in the spring. Funny story with this song: when I gave Vicky the rough bass part, I hand-printed the title of the song at the top of the paper. She misread "winter" for "water" so she looked up at me with a giant question mark hovering over her head, asking, "In my heart, it's still water??" Even after I corrected her, she likes to bug me about it. Look up "Orange Magazine: Live @ ERFB" on YouTube and you will see what happened afterwards... x.x;;;
Lyrics
The snow rarely falls here But, amidst the current whiteout I can see you In the waterfall of snowflakes The glowing snow's a sight to see On this cloudy day my eyes Are still illuminated There are days when all I can think Of is you Sometimes I wonder if you See me, too in The never-ending snowfall *The snow rarely falls here But, amidst this current whiteout I can see you In the corner of my eyes As I run through the cold My tears turn into frozen ice And I can see you in the waterfall of snowflakes I didn't even learn your name On that cloudy day All I saw was your face There are days when all I can think of is you Sometimes, I wonder if you See me, too in The never-ending snowfall? **The snow rarely falls here But, amidst this current whiteout I can see you In the corner of my eyes As I run through the cold My tears turn into frozen ice And I can see you In the waterfall of... In my heart, it is still winter For me...
