Story behind the song
If you ever want to allege that someone is nuts, you better be prepared to take your case all the way. You could be surprised/tricked.
Lyrics
V1 If you dis the mentally ill, 'cause he's insane, and you're not: A surprise for you, (and this is true), they're immune to what you've got. You've got a need to esteem yourself at some other person's expense. Behind blind eyes, you buy your lies, and, friend, that makes no sense. V2 If both of you weren't in the same frame, you'd not feel compelled to condemn. Now you you're spending way too much time comparing you to them..... How low will you go after you come to know your fears still rule you today, And realize it was nobody else who made you feel this way? Ch Don't call me crazy! I'm logical and always up to speed. I can recall all the things that I've done, and I'm loving the life that I lead. I pay my taxes. Receive and send faxes, and function magnificently. Take a long look in the mirror, pal, and don't even think about me! V3 A man is not an label. He's flesh, blood, muscles, and bone, Not Diabetes or other disease--a composite of all that he's known. Am I tri-polar? Hell, no!! I'm a man! Not some behavioral term. (I had strep throat when I was a kid, but that doesn't make me a germ.) Ch V4 You're not the names they've attached to you. You're everything you've been. Walk around the traps they set and don't see yourself falling in. And those of you who set those traps, you're awful company To think that you or anyone could better them or me..... Ch Tuesday November 3, 2009
