Story behind the song
my mom gave me the idea for this, and she actually wrote the first verse to it. it's weird how things all line up sometimes. since writing to a friend lately, i've discovered just how much we all want the same things... the song has different meanings to me. one side is about someone who is living this life with someone that doesn't really know her at all. but only because she won't show it- all her walls. so the version that he might know is- one part what he has created in his mind, and one part of what he see's that she is showing... so it's a wish, really. she comes to realize it's time to quit hiding behind walls, and it's time to go home- however we define it- for her- maybe home is no more walls. no more judgment. no intent. no worries. no motive. just to be completely herself for once. maybe home is a person. someone she can just relax with and 'be'. mostly home is that place- real or not- where it's just ok with whatever she's feeling or realizing is truth. coming to grips with that realization and moving forward towards it. it also is about feeling safe again. simple as that. the other meaning to me--- i think of this as a part II to '90%'. i think this finishes up the idea of that one. i like how the music plays a role in the story. the story of someone trying to get to that place, and then this mad rush to the end, and all of a sudden, it's there. quiet. calm. peace. so there it is...
Lyrics
consequences worked against her circumstances fell to hard she gathered all her senses time to go on home miss little wonder- a little farther for some piece of mind gods of hope and gods of thunder just give her a sign ('cause) home is where her heart is simply safe and warm no more to feel like running from something so unknown the sequence set in motion time for action- clear all tomorrows getting blurry all that's now is here. miss little wonder how much farther for that quiet mind? gods of hope and gods of thunder just give her a sign ('cause) home is where her heart is simply safe and warm no more to feel like running from something so unknown rest so badly needed she is weary just clear thru the sweetest sound of music was all the comfort she ever knew a ray of light and honest answers for all her reasons why a road of light and promise gathers to the one who fights... home is where her heart is simply safe and warm no more to feel like running from something so unknown rest so badly needed she is weary just clear thru the sweet sound of music was all the comfort she ever knew
