Patricia Wake is a singing, songwriting, guitar playing, Sci-Fi/ Fantasy loving, ren-faire going, steampunk SCAdian goth chick fangirl. Patricia writes very serious songs (SRSLY) then presents them with irreverence and inappropriate laughter. Although her major musical influences include Leonard Cohen, P.J. Harvey, Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell, she is also influenced by way too much caffeine, crazy cat lady disorder, an obsession with speculative fiction, and a morbid fascination with the concept of entropy. Patricia currently offers two self recorded and handmade demo EPs, "I'll Have the Pathos With a Side of Angst", and "The Science of Fiction." She appears on Wrapped in the Guise of My Friend, a tribute to UK experimental music pioneers Attrition, and also on the upcoming cancer benefit compilation Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer. Of course, music doesn't pay the bills, so Patricia also creates costumery for her fellow chronically challenged clothing enthusiasts. You can hear her music at http://patriciawake.bandcamp.com, friend her on www.facebook.com/patriciawake, and buy stuff from her at www.patriciawake.etsy.com

Lyrics
The sound of dust, the sound of satellites the sound of solace The smell of stone, the smell of clocks the smell of regret The taste of gravity, the taste of knives the taste of ecstasy The sense and contact, the sense and contact to navigate The smell of time, the smell of bridges the smell of apathy The taste of fire, the taste of streetlights the taste of sufffering The sound of snow, the sound of books the sound of enmity The sense and contact, the sense and contact to navigate Where can it begin, already lost to time Over at the start, the future never far behind The taste of space, the taste of circuitry the taste of heartbreak The smell of water, the smell of history the smell of beauty The sound of smoke, the sound of monuments the sound of empathy The sense and contact, the sense and contact to navigate The sense of clouds, the sense of houses, the sense of love, the sense of forests the sense of cars, the sense of sorrow, the sense of light, the sense of story the sense of passion, the sense of air, the sense of engines, the sense of envy the sense and contact, the sense and contact, the sense and contact, to navigate.
