Story behind the song
A song I originally wrote when I was 16. The words are a bit remedial and wishy washy however they were inspired by seeing racism in our every day world. I had come from a very large high school in the suburbs of Minneapolis where minorities were 3 1/2 % to a school in St Pete, FL were they were 45%. I didn't see just racism of whites toward Blacks and Hispanics, I saw it in full reverse, too.
Lyrics
Nobody who wants to believe that you're here Nobody who wants to look you in the eye It's not that they all wish that we would die They're afraid of people just like you and I So come along and feel the freedom that we share I limit myself from judging others You're all my sisters you're all my brothers Sometimes I feel myself feeling hate It's something we can't help our minds create, sometimes So come along and feel the freedom that we share
