very rough draft (live & unpracticed)--Christmas song of sorts. We had new microphones and I LIKE the way my voice sounds for the first time ever, hearing it. Had to post for friends...

Fantasy-themed rock ballads and anthems
Our demo CD "The Dark Before Hope" draws on the work of Tolkien, especially the Lord of the Rings epic. Bethany, lead vocalist and lyricist, is building up a body of songs about other books she was moved by as well--she's a fantasy writer with a penchant to wax eloquent in many forms about literature. Daniel, primary musician and current producer, plays around on his bass and sometimes a guitar to find musical hooks to build more songs around.

Story behind the song
Tired Christmas music--the most beautiful are overused. So we wrote one--I was thinking of Joseph, and his journey but that will have to be another song. We love Newsboys' Adoration.
Lyrics
Walk the tired trail of trackless sand Watch the wind wipe your steps away We've a star to catch by a new king's hall Wander out from this wilderness Into the arms of a hostage land Come upon a mere son of man Throne on a bed of hay with his kind Like a heart-winning traveling man Look into the clear night's sky and listen Far echoes of a message borne by awesome stars Let us go find this tiny heir of hope Love for the simple people may have come Into the arms of a hostage land Come upon a mere son of man Throne on a bed of hay with his kind Like a heart-winning traveling man Like a vagabond preacher, Like a prophet on call, Like an heir of Elijah, Bringing truth back to us all A traveling guy...A vagabond guy...A heart-winning guy...Born under the star
