Patricia Wake is a singing, songwriting, guitar playing, Sci-Fi/ Fantasy loving, ren-faire going, steampunk SCAdian goth chick fangirl. Patricia writes very serious songs (SRSLY) then presents them with irreverence and inappropriate laughter. Although her major musical influences include Leonard Cohen, P.J. Harvey, Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell, she is also influenced by way too much caffeine, crazy cat lady disorder, an obsession with speculative fiction, and a morbid fascination with the concept of entropy. Patricia currently offers two self recorded and handmade demo EPs, "I'll Have the Pathos With a Side of Angst", and "The Science of Fiction." She appears on Wrapped in the Guise of My Friend, a tribute to UK experimental music pioneers Attrition, and also on the upcoming cancer benefit compilation Electronic Saviors: Industrial Music to Cure Cancer. Of course, music doesn't pay the bills, so Patricia also creates costumery for her fellow chronically challenged clothing enthusiasts. Lyrics
Lie down lie down my love upon the sheet I’ve spread and rest your weary head and rest your weary head Lie down lie down my love for one last warm embrace in our once happy bed in our once happy bed Oh the arsenic it takes its hold so quick that I must kiss you now or never more Lie down lie down my love before the light is gone and rest your weary bones and rest your weary bones Lie down lie down my love this pain that troubles you it will not last too long it will not last too long Lie down lie down my love never again to rise and rest your weary eyes and rest your weary eyes Lie down lie down my love and think you not of her and I’ll forgive your lies I will forgive your lies
