Story behind the song

I was working with Greased Pig Studios on a dungeon-crawling game based on the idea of enigmatic, ancient temples.  The game's direction has changed since I wrote this song, so I'm trying to whip up another, smaller game in GameMaker that still goes with the ancient temple idea.  It is somewhat unlikely that I will be able to complete that game, though a friend experienced in GML might help me get it out.  Who knows?  There are three or four other pieces from this game that will be up in my Grand Old Portfolio, so consider them as a collection.
