Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Story behind the song
These lillies come up every spring. I thought about them today when it was snowing.

I love the smell of Lillies of The Valley! I have brought back 'Four o Clock' seeds from my parents home and planted them. It's a flower they have always had and so when it blooms in my yard I feel a bit like I am at home again. Not near as pretty as 'Lillies of The Valley' but I believe you are singing about the memory and the 'Four O Clocks' give me that memory as well. Grandma would enjoy your song Verne......I bet she is listening :) Once again, THANKS for the memories through YOUR songs!! Happy 2008!! :) :) :) Rosie
